2021 International Men's Health Week

Mens health

Today marks the start of Men’s Health Week which runs until Sunday 20th June. This year, the campaign is focusing on 'Making the Connections', particularly in light of some connections that may have been lost due to Covid-19, and everyone is being asked to 'check in, check up and check it out'. Check in with yourself to see how you’re coping and feeling, check up on those around you to see how they’re doing and offer support, and check it out if you notice anything worrying or that needs medical attention.

The overall aims of the week are to:

-          Heighten awareness of preventable health problems.

-          Support engagement in healthier lifestyle choices / activities.

-          Encourage the early detection and treatment of health concerns.

A list of events and activities taking place around the country is available here Men's Health Week 2021

The celebration of Men's Health Week is funded by HSE Health & Wellbeing and the Public Health Agency. The services within HSE Health & Wellbeing support people and communities to protect and improve their health and wellbeing; turning research, evidence and knowledge into action; acting as the authority on health, wellbeing and policy development; building an intelligent health system and a healthier population. The Public Health Agency operational framework fulfils the mandate to protect public health, improve public health and social wellbeing, and reduce inequalities in health and social wellbeing.
